Zach’s BIO.

He/Him/His

Zach Scioli founded Revolutionary Health in late 2009 to begin to guide clients on their journey to health. As a child, Zach struggled with a myriad of health problems from being overweight to battling with chronic fatigue, acne and much more. He initially sought the mainstream model of heath with hopeful intention. However, after endless physician visits, things not only didn't get any better, they actually got worse.

It came to a point where he hit rock bottom with his health and realized that if anyone was going to really help him reclaim his health, it was going to have to be himself.

Zach spent the next 10 years of his life studying what health really is, why so many struggle with health, and how to re-establish it. In doing this research, he discovered that many of the paradigms we believe about health and wellness in America are actually not supported by research and truth. From eastern perspectives on health to traditional fitness and nutrition, to meditation and the latest biomedical research; he studied it all. Things started off slow, but everyday things got better, and better, easier and easier. Eventually, he realized all his ailments were resolved, and he hadn't just regained a baseline level of health, yet actually achieved a higher level of health than ever before. "It was figuratively like going from driving a dated economy car around, to stepping in a Ferrari - I was READY for life. I had no idea I could experience life in such an empowered way".

Realizing how deeply empowering and transformative the entire process was, he decided to dedicate his career to showing other people the "path" to enjoying their lives to the fullest. Zach went on to study Health Education at San Francisco State University with a minor in Holistic Studies. From that point he acquired his National Academy of Sports Medicine Certificate of Personal Training. As well as, his Crossfit Level 1 Certification, TRX, and American Kettlebell Certifications and several others. Zach has passionately trained many clients over the years and prides himself on evidenced based results for clients, and amazing success stories just like his own. As Revolutionary Health grows, he never stops having the student mentality to obtain new certifications and stay deeply steeped in new biomedical research.

His coaching is a personalized approach to fitness and wellness that recognizes that every client is different and unique. He builds a custom program for each and every client.  In contrast to most conventional training methods, which are almost entirely focused on linear training modalities, and impersonalized dietary recommendations, his coaching optimizes health by addressing the systemic causes of problems blocking a client from peak wellness. Though a 6-pack may be a delightful side effect of his approach, his primary goal is to establish, and maintain the health, happiness, and longevity of your body; giving you the tools you need to take charge of your health for the rest of your life...

TESTIMONIALS.

Zach is a great trainer and has created a workout program so rewarding, I look forward to EVERY workout, even though my typical slot is 6 am. I have worked out with eight different trainers in the last 20 years and have also done a lot of group fitness classes. Zach ranks at the very top. I am in generally decent shape and often question whether it is "worth it" to use a trainer because sometimes it feels like you can find the same exercises in Men's Health or just recycle prior workout routines. But Zach ALWAYS feels like an added value. He tailors the program to precisely fit your goals and isn't shy to suggest "trouble areas" of flexibility, strength, or balance that I might otherwise avoid. Personality-wise, he is always just the right mix of making the workout enjoyable, but not so talkative that we lose focus on the workout.

Zach is very observant and intuitive. He really focuses on form and movement -- and always seems to have just the right verbal or physical cue to take your form from good to great. He has set routines based on your goals, but always mixes it up just enough that the workout is never boring or predictable.

Perhaps, most important of all, Zach really cares about my perspective and results. He has overcome a fair amount of challenge and adversity in his own life and wants to help others do the same. He knows when to push me harder and when to pull back because I have reached a max. I always feel like he devotes the full hour to me and is not in a hurry to finish and move on to his next client.

I have been working with Zach 3x a week for the last 5 months and I am very pleased with my experience. Zach has a holistic approach to health - focusing on nutrition, sleep, recovery, and mental well being in addition to his training. He has a wealth of knowledge and constantly provides facts on how these factors contribute to overall health, and pulls from his years of experience to give tips and tricks on how to improve each. He's provided me with advice on creating a positive relationship with food, and recommendations for getting better sleep (I have transitioned from having insomnia to sleeping 8 hrs a night).

I have gained muscle and lost body fat, progressing on my goal of body recomposition.
I felt that my goal was always at the forefront of our minds, making everything we did together INTENTIONAL. He is as invested in my goals as I am, which is not something to take for granted.

Besides body recomposition, Zach has addressed other physical fitness issues I experienced. I work in tech and suffer from bad posture - my shoulders have previously felt very vulnerable during workouts. I have improved my shoulder mobility through targeted shoulder exercises during our time together, removing the need to see a PT or specialist. He has mitigated the risk of knee injuries by taking the time to work on proper running gait and post workout stretching.

Zach has walked me through how to properly do all the exercises and the WHY behind his programming, so now I feel confident and empowered to enter a gym alone. His programming has me feeling stronger every day (which can actually be proven through us tracking my increased load on exercises!) and his weekly check ins hold me accountable. Zach has given me the tools that have taken my physical fitness and nutrition to the next level in a way that I truly believe I can SUSTAIN for the rest of my life.

Besides his excellence as a personal trainer, Zach is such a pleasure to be with. During the pandemic, with not much going on in my life, my mornings with Zach have been the highlights of my week. I thoroughly enjoy chatting with him about our lives beyond the gym.
Zach is worth his weight in gold!
— Aimee

Freaky genetics allow her to train 6-7 days a week all while holding it down with life and work. The sky's the limit with Aimee. Mixing in strength training, booty building and ever changing challenges to keep her on her toes at the studio. Always sharing exciting stories of her outdoor adventure escapades.

I've been training with Zach for 6 months and I've experienced a significant transformation, in both mind and body, in large part thanks to him. I've lost almost 50lbs so far and I'm just weeks away from edging my body fat percentage into the teens for the first time in a looong while.

I came to Zach after going through a period of realization that I didn't handle stress well, didn't treat myself in a kind way, and had a framework of taking care of myself that was born out of a childhood of alcoholism, abandonment, and addiction. I was stressed out, overweight, and feeling overwhelmed. I had left my job to take care of myself but had no tools to do so.

But then I found Zach! He has become sort of a parent to me in a lot of ways.
He is pragmatic and structured but also compassionate and patient. He's basically re-taught me how to eat, how to exercise, how to be caring to myself in terms of expectations, progress, and recovery. Instead of focusing on weight and if I'm doing good enough fast enough, I'm focused on how strong I've become and how forever all of this will be. This change in thinking has spread into many other facets of my life. I'm a different person now.

Working with him has also been a pleasure. He is really on top of his game and that makes a world of difference. I have a lot of confidence in what he says. Zach is never free styling or wasting time. He's focused on the program he's designed and making sure the data is being recorded and used to push me forward.

I feel really lucky to have found someone so good and so kind.
He's a real professional and his commitment is inspiring.
— Rose

After a profound psychedelic experience, Rose realized she needed to make big changes in her life. From day one through year three Rose never missed a workout, always nurtured herself through nutrition, and most importantly never stopped believing in herself. With seemingly endless levels of motivation, and optimism Rose has completely changed her life - mind, body and spirit. Always a pleasure to be in her presence and crush a workout!

I came to Zach with a goal of building a more solid foundation to pack on more muscle mass, and to my delight, I was not only able to gain several pounds of muscle, but drop 4% body fat in the first couple of months of working with him. I have never seen such progress with my body. All the while, I have never felt like I am torturing myself or putting myself through excessive pain to accomplish my goals. Thanks to Zach, I feel like I am truly understanding how to care for my body in a sustainable, healthy, and happy way.

I attribute this to Zach's holistic snd thoughtful approach. By taking everything from diet, work, stress, and sleep when putting together a program, he's able to help you make long lasting, and hugely impactful changes in every aspect of your life. He understands balance and knows exactly how to build workouts for rapid progress, pushing you to achieve new PRs while building in the right amount of recovery. And critically, it's never a static process,
Zach is always refining and tweaking based on what he sees and learns about you.

He is incredibly attentive in every session, watching and helping me improve my form for key lifts. I have never felt stronger and it feels awesome to be getting past previous plateaus! I cannot recommend Zach enough - if you're considering working with him, do it! 100% worth it.

— Martin

A rare breed who enjoys training at 6am. Martin is always ready to get sh%^ done. Martin was looking to get bigger and stronger than ever before. After a year of training he still sets personal records weekly and hasn't even begun to reach his limit. Amazing squat form - I'm not jealous or anything...
