Reduce Stress with Mindfulness...Right Now! Work with Your Mind, Relax, and Cope with Difficulties in a New Way. Most of us have some tools for dealing with stress. We know that exercise helps. We may take a class in time management, or learn a new way to organize our 'to do' list.

But sometimes stress arises sometimes in spite of our best efforts---and we deal with it in a way that makes it worse! The good news is that we can learn to work with our own mind in a new way by practicing mindfulness, which means simply to live non judgmentally in the present moment. Clinical studies show that practicing mindfulness reduces symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and other conditions. In addition to the many health benefits (short list: lower blood pressure, a healthier brain, and increased immunity to illness and disease) practicing mindfulness helps us be calmer and begin to really appreciate our life.

About the Instructor

Suvanna Cullen, M.A., is a founding teacher at San Francisco Stress Reduction, a San Francisco-based small business dedicated to creating a happier, saner world by helping people access their inner resources, know themselves better, and reduce stress.  Suvanna has taught meditation and stress reduction since 2001 at businesses, nonprofits, SF County Jail, and retreat centers, both locally and internationally.
