1. In a paragraph or two, what is your philosophy on training? My philosophy on training is very simple, "less is more". And, as simple as this statement is, the application of it becomes complicated because our ego-mind likes to complicate things.  We are surrounded by messages in society that "doing more" is better, and while we are inundated with so much "to do", our bodies are constantly in a stress response, which prevents rest, recovery, and restoration of our well-being to take place. We are crazy over "Insanity" workouts, yet the definition of "insanity" is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results! To change our health & improve our performance, we must learn how to "work-in" rather than "work-out" all the time, and enjoy the rejuvenation of our natural vitality that ultimately restores our health and well-being!

2. If you were a color what color would you be and why?

I would be shades of GREY, because I'm growing out of the old black or white thinking, letting go of extreme methods to working out, and recognizing that Life is constantly in a process of circulation. Being in the grey is my way of thinking, living, accepting, and loving all that is!

3. What has been your biggest hurdle/challenge in life when it comes to training?

The biggest hurdle/challenge that I have seen in my life is learning from the adversity of back pain and hormonal imbalance due to over-training, and being undernourished. I had to learn how to walk away from & re-frame a training regimen that became both physically & mentally unhealthy. Growing up as an athlete we learned to push our bodies to the limits, and it was common to hear quotes such as, "Winners never quit, and quitters never win"(Vince Lombardi). I have used these experiences to serve as opportunities for great lessons that help me train for better health and sustainable fitness! To Quote Michael Jordan, "I've failed over and over and over again in my life, and that is why I succeed."

4. What is your favorite piece of exercise equipment at DIAKADI?


Given that the definition of exercise is "something done or performed as a means of practice or training", my favorite piece of exercise equipment is the water jug, because it is the best practice of hydrating my body while using the mental affirmation posted on the jug every day to train my mind with positive thoughts every day!

5. What is your favorite vacation spot? Where would you like to go that you have not been yet?

My favorite vacation spot is Los Roques, National Park in Venezuela virtually unknown to Americans, but is frequented by Europeans. It is what the Caribbean is without tourism. There are over 850 miles of lagoons, reefs, and 350 islands with the most ridiculously gorgeous beaches! I would like to visit Italy, because my ancestral roots go back there.
