I grew up in Montana backcountry skiing, riding road bikes and trail running. After a collegiate career swimming and playing water polo at Dartmouth, I imported my love of sports and the outdoors to the Bay Area, adding surfing to the mix. It was during this period I realized that in order to stay injury-free and perform well doing the activities that I love, strength training needed to become an important part of my life. I created MountainFit SF to offer sport-specific, strength-based training programs with an emphasis on mobility and corrective exercise so the individuals I work with can always get outside and perform at their personal best. I work with individuals of all levels - those looking to run their first 5k or keep up with their kids on the ski slopes to those looking to improve their performance at the competitive level.
I believe that “fitness” and “health” include more than simply time exercising. Sleep, diet, and stress are also important aspects that are taken into consideration when developing a comprehensive training program.
In my down time, you can find me riding my road bike in Marin, catching waves on the coast, or planning my next backcountry ski trip.
