Mya’s BIO.
She/hER
I haven’t always been fit. I grew up overweight. Through both running and strength training, I’ve experienced how transformative movement can be: physically AND mentally. As a strength and run coach, my mission is to help people build resilient, capable bodies that support the lives they want to live.
Before becoming a personal trainer, I originally planned to pursue a career in psychotherapy. Along the way, I realized that coaching allowed me to support people in a similarly meaningful way. I help people challenge themselves, grow, and discover capabilities they may not have believed were possible at first.
My coaching philosophy centers around durability and longevity. I believe training should enhance every aspect of life, whether that means preparing for a race, building strength in the gym, or simply feeling more energized and confident every day. By integrating strength training, mobility work, and endurance training, I help clients move well, stay injury-resistant, and perform at a high level.
I work with a wide range of clients; from ultramarathoners pursuing ambitious endurance goals to individuals who simply want to become stronger, more active, and more connected to their bodies. No matter where someone begins, I focus on creating sustainable training plans that build the strength, resilience, and mindset to keep pursuing what you love long-term.

TESTIMONIALS.
Getting older as a woman felt like I needed a PhD just to meet my longevity goals — but after a year working with Mya, it actually feels fun. We're both nerds: I love to learn, she loves to teach. As a working mom, she meets me exactly where I am at any given moment, and we move at a pace that makes sense for my life. Not to mention — the weird cracking in my knee is completely gone, I feel genuinely strong, and yoga, cycling, and running (which I thought I could not do anymore) are all way more enjoyable than they've ever been.

I've been training with Mya for over a year, and she's the rare trainer who can read exactly what I need the moment I walk in. Worn out from travel? She'll adjust the session. Bad day at work? She'll channel that frustration into the sets. She was on track to become a therapist before she chose training, and you can feel both in how she works: deeply knowledgeable, remarkably attuned, and somehow calming and motivating at the same time. Her attention to form has kept me injury-free, and I've built enough strength to finally tackle arm balances in yoga. Beyond the strength gains, she's quietly built my confidence by pushing me past what I thought I was capable of and pointing out wins I'd have overlooked. I came to her wanting to be a badass old lady, and she's building the kind of strength that will carry me into my (far off!) Golden Girls years.

About a year and a half ago, I was looking for a trainer who could create an approachable strength training program while also helping improve my ultrarunning adventures. Strength training had always intimidated me — the gym, endless weights, equipment I did not know how to use, and the fear of getting the movements “right” so I would not get injured.
Mya has created the perfect environment for athletes like me who have been hesitant about weight training. She brings patience, accountability, adaptability, and consistency to every session.
Since strength training with Mya, I feel stronger, more confident working with weights, and even PR’d a few races.
