Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty…
— Theodore Roosevelt

My mission is to help motivated individuals become stronger, build muscle, lose fat and perform better. What sets me apart from other practitioners is the fact that I am not only a strength and conditioning coach, but also a Certified Massage Therapist. I attained my manual therapy license because, from early on in my training career, I was very drawn to corrective exercise and injury prevention. I had developed a keen eye for detail and technique during exercise but I wanted to be able to palpate and perform tissue work to more efficiently optimize movement. However, I didn’t stop there - I also studied various functional neurology techniques which broadened my understanding of the human body and allowed me to address dysfunction in ways I never thought were possible.

Training, bodywork and functional neurology are the elements that make up my integrated approach to health and fitness. This multidisciplinary style keeps my clients training safely and efficiently but on a deeper level, it embodies something I truly believe - that therapy and training should be seen as a continuum instead of two separate, sometimes conflicting processes. This is why, in addition to becoming a CMT and diving into neurology, I also study the best techniques and methods for movement, strength and conditioning.

I love working with motivated individuals who want to achieve their fitness goals without worrying about past, present or future obstacles with pain and injury. I'm committed to becoming a master of my craft and I believe that my thirst for knowledge has accumulated me the skill set and expertise to help you attain unparalleled results. If you are ready to work hard and commit to yourself, I would be extremely grateful to have you along on my journey of health and fitness.

As a former triathlete and long distance endurance athlete, my goals have been focused on strength and muscle building. Austin creates extremely detailed programs available through Google Sheets that have helped me record my progress and keep on track to achieving my fitness goals. He provides regular expert advice on form and technique, which is exactly what I wanted as I started with just a foundational understanding of strength exercises. Austin also incorporates bodywork and P-DTR into our sessions to ensure that I’m feeling flexible and limber. Finally, Austin keeps things always interesting and dynamic by switching up our workouts on the regular. Can’t recommend him enough.

Austin Villamil is a gifted personal trainer who’s had a tremendous positive impact in my health and overall fitness. I once had chronic pain in my right knee that limited my mobility. After not much progress with a physical therapist, Austin looked at me holistically, identified issues with my posture and imbalances in my muscles and worked with me over several months to get me running again without any pain. The guy has a great attention to detail, he’s incredibly knowledgeable about the body, and he really cares about his clients. I’ve never been one to work out at a gym, but now it’s become a bit of a habit and I look forward to our sessions together. I have a lot to thank Austin for, but probably the biggest is being able to go on hikes with my kids without knee pain.

I would definitely still be a couch potato with back pain if not for almost 3 years of training with Austin. Instead, I’m living an active lifestyle, working out 4+ times a week (either with Austin or with the awesome programs he designs for me), and haven’t experienced back pain in years. I work a desk job and often end up with weird knots and dysfunctions from the hours I spend sitting every day. In our sessions, Austin uses his P-DTR (which I’m convinced is straight up magic) and bodywork skills to address those issues, making sure that I’m able to get the most out of my workouts and progress towards my goals! If you’re looking for a trainer who will meet you where you’re at while still pushing you towards your goals, I can’t recommend Austin enough!
